Autumn in London

Autumn in London

As I sit on a busy number 47 from Liverpool Street to Bellingham, it’s nice having a quiet moment to sit and type an almost diary-like entry of how Joe and I spent our Sunday a couple of weeks ago.

Rarely having a spare moment between us, it almost felt like we needed to pack in as much as humanly possible into a free day (whilst also being as leisurely as relaxed as possible).

Having not visited East London for a long time, and being somewhere we used to head to every couple of weeks growing up (we were saying it’s been nearly ten years since we used to hang outside Rough Trade for their in-stores)- it was nice to revisit some of our old favourites and soak up the buzz of Shoreditch on a Sunday- somewhere that’s definitely gotten busier as the years go on (which, yes, I know makes me sound like a nana- but so have it)!

We haven’t made a lot of time for days out like this and although we always vow to make more time for ‘date days’ and just embracing the city we live in- we’re definitely not naturals at it. But, it was so lovely to just walk around. To squeeze our way up Columbia Road shoulder to shoulder with the other people there- bargaining for blooms and then grabbing a flaky filled sausage roll at Lily Vanilli’s. London is one of the most beautiful places in the Autumn, and although Columbia road at 12pm isn’t always a testament to that (let me tell you it’s busier than Next on Boxing Day), it’s so nice to potter around the quieter side streets and slip into little vintage and antique shops to escape the bustle.
